Fans Representative- FAQ's How does the rep get elected?
We
hold an election amongst our members. We invite people to submit
their application to stand for election, together with a profile.
If more than one application is received, we hold an election. This
will normally be voted on at our AGM. If there is only one applicant,
we will still ask our members to ratify their appointment to the
Board.
Who can become the fans' rep?
Anyone who is a member of the Trust. Obviously the Board of the
Trust would recommend that the elected rep comes from within the
Board itself. However there is nothing to stop any paid-up member
submitting an application form.
How long does the representative hold the position for?
A total of three years. After the third year the incumbent must
stand down and a fresh election will be held.
Is the rep a full member of the CUFC Board?
Yes. Our representative becomes a full director with proper voting
rights and has to sign forms to become a recognised company director
in accordance with the relevant legislation.
Will anybody be accepted on to the Board?
The majority owner of the football club has the right of veto.
In practice this will usually be put to a vote by the existing CUFC
Board. However we are confident that anyone who has already served
time on the Trust's own Board will prove acceptable.
Does the rep get to attend all CUFC Board Meetings?
Yes and they possess full voting rights. In the event of the rep
being unwell or unable to attend for whatever reason, we have the
right to send an alternate along in his/her place.
Does the Trust have a permanent right to elect a representative
on to the Board?
Yes. The agreement we have signed with the club's owner means,
as long as we own shares in the club, we have the right to elected
representation on the Board.
Is the rep electing ME on the Board of the football club?
Yes.
If you are a member of the Trust then the rep is representing YOUR
interests on the football club's Board. You can ask questions of
the rep and have a right to get answers back.
Bearing in mind many issues can be dealt with outside the remit
of the Board itself. However feel free to put any question you want
to your representative.
