Wednesday 03rd January 2007: Completion of Share Purchase in CUFC Holdings

The United Trust has successfully completed the purchase of a 25.37% stake in Carlisle United FC's parent company, CUFC Holdings Ltd.

The Trust handed over the final payment of £85,000 to the club last week, in compliance with the May 2006 shareholders' agreement.

The Trust now owns 34 of the 134 issued shares in CUFC Holdings. This final payment takes to £800,000 the total investment made in the football club by the Trust which was formed as CCUIST in May 2001.


The Trust Board wish to take this opportunity of expressing its gratitude to all members who have made contributions/ donations to the share fund over the last five years.

It is hoped, subject to the agreement of the club directors, that the £85,000 can be used for team strengthening in conjunction with the transfer window having just opened.

Finally it is worth noting that the original aims of the trust have been realised i.e. a meaningful shareholding and representation on the Board of Carlisle United (1921) Ltd.
