Wednesday 19th April 2006: United Trust Press Statement 19.04.06

The current chair of the United Trust Board, Kate Rowley, has decided to stand down as Chair of the Trust with immediate effect. Her resignation is in the main due to a new appointment as a member of the Cumbria Probation Panel and her increased work load as a member of Cumbria Constabulary. However as an elected representative Kate will remain as a Trust Board Member.

The Board wish to acknowledge the tireless work undertaken by Kate over the last two years and her commitment to the Trust movement in general, having been a founder member of CCUIST and is a great believer in the Trust movement under the governance of Supporters Direct, the national body which oversees sports trusts.

Norman Steel, a board member of the Trust since its inception in 2001, will take over from Kate as chair.
