Press Release Article Friday 01st August 2008: Rowley case is thrown out
The United Trust can confirm that the private summons taken out by Fred Story against Kate Rowley the ex Chair of the United Trust was heard before His Honour Judge Hughes at Carlisle Crown Court on Friday 25th July.
His Honour Judge Hughes took the view that to continue with these proceedings was an abuse of the process of the Court and stayed the proceedings accordingly. He also indicated that to proceed with the action was an affront to justice and fair play.
Fred Story was ordered by His Honour to pay all costs.
The result vindicates Kate Rowley and hopefully brings to an end to these proceedings which have been difficult for all concerned. The Board of the Trust are pleased with the outcome of the proceedings and have been supportive of Kate and her family throughout.
